Cheryl Stafford, CEC, PCC, CHRP

Cheryl brings over 20 years of executive coaching and strategic human resources experience to supporting leaders to raise the bar and align who they are with what they do. She supports established leaders who want to up their “A” game and emerging and mid-level leaders who are eager to learn effective leadership skills and behaviours to increase their leadership presence.

As a professional certified coach, Cheryl is known for balancing pragmatism and integrity with warmth, compassion, and humour. She uses a wide variety of tools to assess how clients think, work, and relate. Her work with leaders helps enhance self-awareness and increase capability and behaviours required to maximize leadership potential and success. Cheryl uses an integral approach to coaching that considers a wide range of factors that influence leadership success.

As a former human resources executive, Cheryl has worked with organizations in the banking, high-tech, professional services, and non-profit sectors. Specifically, she held senior leadership roles with Citizens Bank of Canada and BC Children’s Hospital Foundation and received numerous awards for industry leading people practices.

As a facilitator and speaker, Cheryl works with leadership teams and audiences to educate and inspire on topics including leadership foundations, coaching, high performing teams, communication, ego development and emotional intelligence.


Cheryl is certified in Emotional Intelligence, Myers Briggs, Ego Development, the Assess Personality Inventory, and Coaching Out of the Box.  Cheryl is a coach for a national banking leadership program as well as a retail/mining global leadership project. She is also a designer, facilitator and coach for a local non-profit leadership program which she co-created with her partner at the Karmichael Group.

Cheryl is a leader with Cheryl Stafford & Associates and the Karmichael Group and is the Past President of the International Coach Federation (ICF), Vancouver Chapter and an active member of the BCHRMA. She is a mentor to emerging coaches at Royal Roads University, as well as to budding [HR] professionals through BCHRMA. Cheryl was a judge for the ICF 2013 Washington State Prism Coaching Award and the 2013-2014 HRMA Rising Star Awards. She is a certified executive coach (CEC) through Royal Roads University and a professional certified coach (PCC) through the ICF, as well as a certified human resources professional (CHRP) through HRMA.
