Why are emotions important? 

Emotions are data and provide us with information we can use to more intelligently perceive and express ourselves, and navigate relationships, decisions and stress. These are skills we can develop to manage daily challenges.

Our brains process emotions, alongside a vast range of other information. It is not possible to leave emotions ‘at the door’. We need our emotions to help understand and interpret the many contexts and situations of our lives. Beliefs, biases, perceptions, experiences and interactions are filtered through an emotional lens.
