Coaching with emotional intelligence
Coaching with the EQ-i 2.0 is an incredible pairing of methods.
At EITC, we’re thinking a lot these days about coaching.
So much so we’ve thought about changing our name to The Emotional Intelligence Training (and Coaching) Company. Just kidding, but I do feel a bit like Canadian Tire wanting to let people know they sell more than just tires – we do more than just training.
We’ve always believed in education and training. In fact, I have two education degrees! And we’ve always been believers in emotional intelligence skills development.
But here’s a ‘not-so-secret’ secret.
Coaching is the very best way to improve emotional intelligence skills. We’ve been coaching senior execs and leaders for as long as we’ve been doing training.
At least we thought we were.
A decade ago, we got serious about coaching and we took our coach training to the next level. And when we got through to the other side, we realized that we had come an astonishing long way.
Coaching, done right, is powerful.
And the coaching we do now, looks and feels different than the coaching we did back in the early days of EITC. We’re thankful to the many coaches and mentors in our lives who have pushed us to do better! We’re thankful for the ICF and the many ICF chapters we’ve been fortunate enough to be associated with. We have the Co-Active Training Institute (among other wonderful coach training organizations) and the entire group of coaching academics, researchers, practitioners, and trainers to thank for where we’re at now.
But something that’s never changed, no matter how much we study and practice coaching, is how we view humans through the EQ-i 2.0 model and framework. It’s too valuable a paradigm by which to understand human performance and leadership.
That’s why we call what we do EQ coaching. Coaching with the EQ-i 2.0 (or EQ 360) is an incredibly powerful pairing of methodologies.
EQ Coaching is the best way we’ve found for individuals to disrupt their lifetime of habits, behaviours, and beliefs. EQ Coaching is the best way we’ve found for people to do serious emotional intelligence skills development.
So, if you’re already a coach, we invite you to take your EQ-i 2.0/EQ 360 Certification with us. And if you’re already EQ-i 2.0 Certified, we invite you to deepen your EQ coaching practice by attending one of the many opportunities our alumni have to connect each month to develop EQ coaching skills and learn together in community.
