Updates, emotional intelligence on purpose, and our alumni community connection

EITC presenter.

The need for emotional intelligence is at an all time high. With people recovering from the height of the pandemic and transitioning to hybrid work arrangements, our stress is not necessarily decreasing, but it is changing. New demands to be flexible, the loss of personal connection in relationships, uncertainty about the future and a challenge to care for ourselves and others is at the forefront for many of us.

We share these challenges as we discover new ways of being with our family, friends and alumni, manage change, anticipate the future and think about those in our circle and those we would like to get to know. We are always thinking about ways to stay connected and share. So, here is our October newsletter, which we hope you will find useful and feel inspired to join in the conversation.

Articles to read

We want to thank Crystal Morris for writing this insightful article, “The role of emotional intelligence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.” October is Global Diversity Month and if you haven’t read Crystal’s article yet, we recommend it. Also, if you’re watching Ted Lasso (like we are) you might enjoy this dispatch from Mark Carroll about how a real life European football coach developed his emotional intelligence. Also, we’re excited about accepting other articles for publication, so if you have something you want to write, or have written but haven’t published yet, please get in touch. We would be happy to hear from you.

This summer and fall, we’ve had a couple of change leaders tell us about their experience using the EQ-i 2.0 and helping others work on their emotional intelligence skills.

Upcoming webinar

Join us for our upcoming webinar “Emotional Intelligence on Purpose”. Join Jill Cory and David Cory as they discuss the possibilities for using emotional intelligence with purpose. Explore the idea of ‘dialing up’ and ‘dialing down’ various emotional intelligence competencies. Deepen your understanding about the differences between intention and impact, so you can be more purposeful and more effective in a variety of relationships and situations. You can register now to join, and ensure you get the video replay, just in case you don’t make it. Hope to see you there.

Openings in the November certification course

We have a few spots left in our November Certification. If you’ve been hoping to get certified to use the EQ-i 2.0/EQ 360 or know someone who might benefit, now is a great time to sign up and join our community. When you do certification with us, you have the opportunity to participate in our highly-interactive online course. Our EQ program includes the Developing EQ Course that follows the EQ-i 2.0 Certification course where you receive all the training and resources you need to use the EQ-i 2.0 assessment tool for coaching and training others. Sign up, join our community, and get the benefits of being part of our alumni community.

Alumni community connections

And finally, we are excited to announce that our community alumni meetings will resume. We began meeting weekly at the start of the pandemic as a way to mitigate social isolation, and it has been a powerful experience. We took a break which gave us an opportunity to really consider our goals and aspirations for this community connection. We have a proposal for going forward, which we would like to share with alumni on Wednesday, November 3rd. You will get an invitation by email soon. (sheesh, how did it get to be November?!).

We truly want to thank our alumni. You know who you are, and your ongoing support and feedback is critical for the success and wellbeing of our community.

Let us know what’s keeping you going!
